About Us

What is the Rockfish River Music Festival?

Inaugural three day music and camping festival (Fri, Sat, and Sun). The musical line-up hasn’t yet been determined but it will include national and regional level bands in the bluegrass, folk, country, and jam band genre.

Where?

Rockin’ Chair Farm – in eastern Nelson County, about 30 miles South East from Charlottesville. The property is comprised of 234 acres with over a mile of frontage on The Rockfish River – a gorgeous place to camp, meet new folks, and listen to music! Check out the pictures… updated photos will be posted as work progresses. The inaugural festival will be the first step towards creating a venue for live music, social interaction, and sustainable farming.

When?

Events will be held twice per year – one in the Spring and one in the Fall.

How?

Attendance will be capped at 2,500 for the first event. Camping is encouraged: it’s safer/produces less traffic, allows for more time with family, friends, and getting to know new folks. There are lots of nice places to camp near the river. Day passes will be available if we don’t sell out of the three day passes. Ticket prices are likely to start around $100 for the three day pass. There will be an additional charge for premium and/or prepared camp sites.  We intend to produce a family friendly festival at a reasonable/sustainable cost.  There will be opportunities to barter for admission and some camping and parking will be available at no additional cost.

Who?

We are still finalizing contact info for folks who will take an active role in production and promotion. Please fill out a contact form if you would like to get involved and let us know how you can help out!
